Literature’s Influence on Daniel Blaufuks

Na prolífica carreira de Daniel Blaufuks, a relação entre a fotografia e as outras artes surge como uma característica predominante. O artista recorre frequentemente a escritores e músicos como Georges Perec, W. G. Sebald, Jorge Luis Borges ou Lou Reed, entre outros, não só para inspirar os títulos das suas obras e o desenvolvimento dos seus projetos, mas também para se inspirar em aspetos formais, como a estrutura editorial das coleções de contos na construção de um dos seus próprios fotolivros. Aqui, é possível poder estabelecer-se um paralelo entre o impacto de uma snapshot e um momento incisivo num conto. Adicionalmente, os projetos de Blaufuks têm inspi-rado também eles outros artistas e escritores. O seguinte artigo examina três obras, duas de Blaufuks, Collected Short Stories (2003) e Tentativa de Esgotamento (2016), e uma inspirada por ele, Matteo Perdeu o Emprego (2010), de Gonçalo M. Tavares, para considerar a ténue fronteira entre literatura e fotografia, bem como a forma como o artista a atravessa.
