No. 8 (2025): Frames of Expression: Photography and Other Art Forms
Ed: José Bértolo, José Neves
This issue of Compendium positions itself within the critical landscape of photography’s broader intermedial relations. By bringing together contributions that approach photography through its intersections with literature, writing, performance, drawing, exhibition practices, and nineteenth- and twentieth-century visual culture, it seeks to contribute to ongoing debates within photography studies from a comparative perspective, seeing intermedial relations as central to how photography has been produced and theorised throughout history. The five articles and two reviews are complemented by an interview shedding light on exhibition practices and the challenges and scope of photographic materiality.
