Abstract

The editors’ foreword situates photography as a practice defined by its historically complex and productive relationship with other arts, emphasising its intermedial and comparative dimensions. It frames the issue within contemporary photography studies and provides an overview of its contents, presenting the set of articles, as well as an interview and two reviews, which collectively explore photography’s exchanges with literature, visual culture, and other artistic forms.
