Abstract

The Popular Laboratory of Free Media (https://laboratoriodemedios.org/) works to promote communication and free technologies for the collective benefit of communities and processes that defend territory and life. It promotes the construction of communication infrastructures that defend privacy, decentralization and freedom of its participants. Its main objective is to support communities and processes that are in defense of rivers, air, land, natural life and therefore the identity of ancestral communities that live in symbiosis with these territories, which large companies insist on looking at as a resource for exploitation.

Patricia Murrieta Flores, Lancaster University

Patricia Murrieta Flores es catedrática en Humanidades Digitales y codirectora del Digital Humanities Centre en Lancaster University, UK. Su interés de investigación principal es la aplicación de la tecnología a las Humanidades, y en particular las Humanidades Espaciales. Es IP del proyecto Digging into Early Colonial Mexico: A large-scale computational analysis of 16th century historical sources, financiado por la Transatlantic Platform (T-AP), y colaboradora y codirectora de otros proyectos financiados por ERC, ESRC, AHRC, HERA, o el Paul Mellon Centre, entre otros. Ha editado y contribuido a numerosos libros sobre Humanidades Digitales, patrimonio cultural, el uso de GIS y otras tecnologías en Arqueología, Historia y Literatura, y ha publicado numerosos artículos sobre las teorías y metodologías asociadas con los conceptos de espacio y lugar.
