Author Biography

Markus Ebenhoch, University of Salzburg, Austria

Markus Ebenhoch is an associate professor in the Department of Romance Philology at the
University of Salzburg, where in 2009 he defended his doctoral thesis entitled A Cuba pobre.
Representações da pobreza nos contos cubanos dos anos 1990. In 2016/2017, he was a
visiting researcher at the Centre for Comparative Studies at the University of Lisbon School of
Arts and Humanities, and in 2021, a visiting professor at the University of Frankfurt am Main. He
has published several books and articles on 20th-century literature, Enlightenment literature,
and Latin American liberation theology, including A religião no romance português do século
XVIII (Portuguese edition: 2025; German edition: 2023).
