Book review of Florent Coste, L’ordinaire de la littérature. Que peut (encore) la théorie littéraire ? Paris: La Fabrique, 2024. While analyzing the reasons for the decline of literary theory, the author explains the absolute necessity of literary theory, not in order to save an institutionalized approach whose shortcomings he admits, but in order to work for a revival of theory on entirely new foundations.
